| So, what's Remnant's story? I keep seeing mention of "Rainmakers." What's that? |

| Oh, Rainmakers...I think this might stem from issues with someone named...dare I say it...Mirrors (GM.) I can't think of who the oldest member is because Dav and I joined when we found out Ronald was in Rainmakers on Horde side. Towards the end of the guild though, I remember Maulisent whispering Dav about Remnant and both of us were instantly...yes, dude, yes, a thousand times yes. |

From what I know, from talking around, is that Remnant was form from a group of people who left Rainmakers. Back in vanilla wow Rainmakers was a pretty good raiding guild, I remeber seeing them back in the day when I was a little wow nooblet running around doing my low level WSGs. Appearantly their guild leader was a bitch and it caused a chunk of them to break away and form Remnant. I know Dawnspeaker speaks of his days in Rainmakers, he might know more of the specifics. _________________ Thrall: Morning Garrosh. Want pancakes for breakfast?

Makya or Maul actually put up a RP story about how Remnant formed on KT's forums when they broke off from Rainmakers.
Rainmakers was the guild that the original core of Remnant came from. Many of us leveled from noob to 70 with them (I was running Ragefire when I joined so like level 15?) Rainmakers was special in many ways. The guild chat was often enlightening- and always full words and mostly sentences. Its was a group that had fun, got things done and in many ways set the tone for what Remnant was in the beginning- people who liked to raid and those who might not but still wanted to hang out with their friends.
The GM Mirrors went away for a long time- over 8 month, but was still the GM. When she came back she found the officers hadn't kept true to her 'vision.' She called the officers one morning early Sunday morning to tell them she was replacing them all- except at the time she didn't actually have anyone to replace them.
The next months were painful. Mak and Maul decided with some of their friends they could do a better job. So they left. This left the Rainmakers with about enough people who raided to run ZA. Mirrors, who wasn't really into playing was going to end the guild, but gave it to Ixxie instead. Many of the Rainmakers who had not split with Mak and Maul went to Remnant at that time.
Rainmakers- To me it was much like family. We leveled, we raided, we helped each other out, we squabbled, sometimes we fought. We laughed, we celebrated some of the small victories- births, marriages, birthdays. We played pranks on each other. There were times when we led the horde progression, and there were times LNE or Blacklisted did. Didn't matter, we were having fun.
It was home, lumps and all. I made some good friends out it, met some of them in person. I'll always have fond memories of it (and a therapy bill but that is a different problem.)

Kvar is correct regarding the Rainmakers side of things. But the entire reason the first people let RM to come to Remnant is because we really wanted to see endgame content in BC and we felt like we were not going to be able to see everything we wanted to in RM. In Vanilla WoW RM got Ragnaros down and thats about as far as we got. So we started Remnant with the Ideas of building a guild that would be able to afford us the opportunities to experience all this great game has to offer.
Being one of the original few I would have to say I am excited to see where this guild has gone. In BC we got Vashj Down. Got Kael'thas in TK down. Got Archimonde in Mount Hyjal down. Got Illidan in BT Down. Now in Wrath we are working on ICC25 and making great progress in there.
All I can say is I'm happy to still be in Remnant and excited to see where were going to go in the rest of Wrath and Beyond

For a while I've been considering writing up a comprehensive and (mostly) unbiased history of Remnant, reaching back into the Rainmakers days. I kind of wanted to have it finished by fall and post it on the forums on the anniversary of Remnant's founding. (Damn you Vyn for starting this thread and spoiling my surprise!) Hopefully I can get this underway, post it, and then re-edit as people make amendments or correct my failing memory. Anyone have any suggestions as I attempt to earn the achievement "Guild Historian"? _________________

As one of the original, I can say I really enjoyed my time in Rainmakers... But Kvar really nailed it on the short and dirty history. I realyl couldnt say anything else that would add much. Rainmakers was definitely a great time though.. and Im happy to say that most everyone I enjoyed playing with from there, is now here. And as someone who comes and goes a bit on the sporadic side, its always nice to see old friends in guild chat...
Not to say that you newer folks arent also cool... but when youve been playing with a certain group of people for years, its nice to have a familiar "face" when you pop back in after an extended absence... |

Their once was a brave band of heroes, a bright light burned from with in them. So bright was that light that many evils fled its very presence. They slew many demons and righted many wrongs. As long as the light burned from with in them they could stand any foe, but such heroes do not last.
The light burned out in some, they fell and were mourned by their brothers and sisters.

The foes changed, the heroes changed, the light was still bright in those that remained.

The foes fell, and the heroes grew stronger, Demons, dragons, undead, beings from other planes, all fell before the band of heroes. As long as the light burned from with in them they could stand any foe, but such heroes can not last.
The light burned out in some, they fell and were mourned by their brother and sisters.

The band had grown small, the demons were much larger then before and they did not fear the light. The demons were strong, too strong. Still the heroes battled, waging a war against the darkness. They gained no ground, but they fought on, raging into the night. As long as the light burned from with in them they could stand any foe, but such heroes never last.
The darkness consumed the light, they fell…with no one to mourn them.
